Located 300 km south of Salvador, Ilhéus lies at the intersection of highways BR-415 (coming from Itabuna) and BA-001, just 30 km from Itabuna and 75 km from Itacaré.

✈️ Arriving by Plane

 

Ilhéus (IOS) receives daily direct flights from AZUL, GOL, and LATAM airlines, departing from Belo Horizonte (CNF), Salvador (SSA), and São Paulo (CGH and GRU). There are also less frequent direct flights from Brasília, Campinas, and Rio de Janeiro.

🚌 Arriving by Bus

 

Buses to Ilhéus come from most Brazilian capitals and several cities in the state. Águia Branca operates two direct buses per day from Salvador to Ilhéus. Alternatively, you can take the ferry-boat from Salvador to Itaparica Island (Bom Despacho) and continue to Ilhéus by Águia Branca bus. https://www.aguiabranca.com.br/

🚗 Arriving by Car

 

From southern Brazil, drive along BR-101 to Itabuna, then continue 30 km on BR-415 toward Ilhéus.

 

From Salvador, there are two routes possible, both beeing a 8h journey between Salvador and Ilhéus. The first is to take the ferry-boat in Salvador to Bom Despacho (Itaparica island) and continue on BA-001 (300 km) up to Ilhéus. The second option is to drive via BR-101 to the south, from Salvador up to Uruçuca and then continue on BA-262 from Uruçuca to Ilhéus (450 km).
