We offer a boat trip in small groups of up to 6 passengers, accessible for children from 10 kg, which takes you to the community of Rio do Engenho.
The visit to Rio do Engenho is available all year round, but is dependent on the tide. Talk to us to combine the best date and time.
We can meet at the entrance of Ilhéus Yacht Club or the Jardim Secreto Sunset gastrobar and continue with a 15-minute briefing on navigation and safety on board. We'll finalize everything we need to do before boarding (toilet, completing the payment, answering your questions) and we'll board.
Drinking water is available on the boat, but you must:
- take the necessary sun protection
- dress in clothes that can get wet
- leave a complete change of dry clothes in the car or backpack.
Other than that, you can bring whatever you like (cameras, phones, seasickness medicine, etc.).

After boarding, we will sail for an hour to reach Rio do Engenho, which is about 20 km from the Ilhéus Yacht Club, sailing calmly to enjoy the path and the mangroves.
After going up the river towards a dam, where you can enter the water, it is also possible to visit a small village, a cacao farm and the third church built in Brazil (the second oldest still standing).
You will visit lands that in the past were home to the first sugar cane mill in Brazil. The cane that was produced there in 1537 for the manufacture of sugar, is now replaced by the cocoa production.
In addition to the church, an on-site memorial tells this story to anyone visiting the village.

The area through which we will navigate is the habitat of many aquatic species, from fish to birds, including the Guiana dolphins! Who knows, maybe you're lucky enough to see them? With Ecosul Turismo, fauna observations are commented by qualified biologist guides.
Of course, as with any activity with Nature, we cannot guarantee the presence of a specific animal.
After a few hours discovering the coast of Ilhéus, the Jorge Amado bridge, a postcard of the city, and the mangroves of Baía do Pontal, we will arrive in style in the village of Rio do Engenho.
