Safari Almada River and Lagoa Encantada
In Ilhéus there is a lost paradise that few people know about. A wild river, an immense lagoon and paradisiacal waterfalls. From November to December, in spring, this paradise is even more beautiful with all the colors and songs of the birds in full reproduction period. With our team, 100% biologists, come on a Boat Safari, sailing along the Almada River to the Enchanted Lagoon.

BOARDING
We offer this tour with two different boats: you can come in groups of up to 8 passengers, accessible for children from 10 kg.
The Safari Almada River and Lagoa Encantada is available every day of the year, with a meeting at 7:30 am, and then we will embark on an adventure lasting 8 hours in total.
We leave early to make the most of our day and have a smooth sailing watching the birds along the way.
We meet at the Chocolate Caseiro factory in Ilhéus and head to our boarding point together.
Drinking water is available on the boat, but you must take: the necessary sun protection, wear clothes that can get wet and carry a complete change of dry clothes in your backpack.
Other than that, you can bring whatever you want!

NAVIGATION
After boarding, we will sail for up to 3 hours on the Almada River, observing the different landscapes and the birds that frequent this environment. Lagoa Encantada is about 30 km from our boarding point, but we prefer to navigate calmly to enjoy the path.
The bird watching is commented on by qualified biologist guides and we take on board an Atlantic Forest bird identification book, as well as binoculars to make the most of our bird watching.
Of course, as with any activity with Nature, we cannot guarantee the presence of a specific animal.
After a few hours discovering the mangroves, the Atlantic Forest and the communities that inhabit the banks of the Almada River, we will arrive in style at Lagoa Encantada, a surprising and enormous natural water mirror, in the middle of an Environmental Protection Area of 15 km² in the middle of a biodiversity hotspot region.

Environment
Our customers, upon arriving at the village of Lagoa Encantada, usually say that they took a trip back in time. Chickens, horses, dogs and cows roam this bucolic village, where restaurant tables are set in the shade of almond trees and other trees.
After ordering your lunch and setting the meal time, we'll take a boat to visit a cocoa farm overlooking this unique landscape in the region.
Get to know the cabruca, an agroforestry system where cocoa is traditionally planted, the dryer where the almonds come out to be sold to the chocolate industry and other fruits that make up the landscape and will remind you of a childhood taste.
Last stop before heading back for lunch: the waterfalls! You won't regret after this ultra-refreshing shower!
